The rock and pool, is nice and cool...May 4, 2008
News and Announcements

There's a chill in the air, and it blows south from Forochel.  Book 13 has settled onto the servers like a happy dusting of snow.  Alas, not all the snow has proved trustworthy!  Why is it that "Thrill of Danger" is breaking mez, for example?  Why isn't your map working properly?  Why are some corpses in Forochel showing an incorrect icon!?  Obviously, the answer is evil snow!!

...

(oh, okay, it could be that there are some known issues with Book 13.  Read all about them here)

In other news, the winners of the anniversary screeshot competition have been decided.  Feel free to head on over to the Codemasters forums, here, and see the winning entries for yourself (the third picture is particularly amusing).  Go on!  You know you want to!

Events This Week

Well, there was this expansion...

Alas, thanks to Forochel, there have been few actual events taking place this week.  Between Book 13, the new quests in Forochel and fishing, most of the populace is somewhat busy.  However, despair not!  I bring useful information for you!  Information on fishing!  What, you didn't think I was going to spoil Book 13 for you, did you?

First off, those helpful chappies on the US forums have been busy and have put together an immensly useful guide to angling in Middle Earth!  Ever wanted to catch that prized Corageous Carp?  Well now you can see where you need to go!  See here for details.

Ah, but there is more!  Once you have caught your prized trout, how do you know what it will look like when it's stuffed and mounted on your wall?  Well, despair not!  Again, the US forums bring good councel!  Here is a thread which aims to provide pictures of every trophy.  See how I spoil you!

On the Forum

Aeraendis is looking to brave the swamps of Agamaur and Garth Agarwen!  He seeks a reckoning with the gaunt lord Ivar the Blood-Hand, and he also seeks allies!  Sign up here and go kick unusually large wight bottom.  Or some such thing.  Please.  I hate that wight.  Go on...

Nodh is also looking for allies, but for a much darker task.  He seeks to venture into the Rift of Nurz Ghashu and slay the terrors therein!  Thanks to his valliant efforts, we now almost have enough brave adventurers to make the attempt, but we still need a few more!  Come and join us!  Sign up here!  Stop me using so many exclamation marks!

Though they are much fleshed out from their original incarnation, we're still looking for people to contribute to the various class guides in our forums.  Come and share your advice with us!  See here if you're a Champion, here if you're a Guardian, here if you're a Minstrel, here if you're a Captain, here if you're a Loremaster, here if you're a Burglar and here if you're Hunter.  Goodness, that's a lot of here's...

Due Gratz

There do not seem to be any due gratz this week.  I really do feel you're all slacking.  Must be all the fishing...

In Middle Earth

The House of Elentari would like to extend its most joyous felicitations to Mr. Samwise Gamgee and Miss Rose Cotton of Hobbiton upon the occasion of their wedding.  We understand from them that Mr. and Mrs. Gamgee will be shortly moving in to the most desireable property of Bag End with Mr. Frodo Baggins in order to look after him and keep his garden.  Happy news indeed after all the recent upheavals in Bywater!  We wish them both the very best!

That's it for this week folks,

Fishing in a Winter WonderlandApril 30, 2008

Book 13 launches today! Strap those skis on, grab yourself a fishing pole, and head North to explore the scenic Ice Bay of Forochel. Lots of nifty new stuff this month, and a new Epic Book quest to work through. Who was the Last-King? What was his Doom? And what's that hyphen doing there?

News and Events

LOTRO is now one year old, and so is the House of Elentári - so we had a party to celebrate! Friends from the Alliance joined us at the mansion to dance, drink, get into fights, and to compete in the Great Inn League Keg Race. Congratulations to Ithilion, who snatched first place, and commiserations to Dragnok, who landed on top of the Giant's Needle twice in a row! A good time was had by all, so many thanks to everyone who turned out to make it such a successful day!

Codemasters is also celebrating LOTRO's birthday - with another screenshot competition! They want to see your funnest, funniest pictures, so head on over to their forums for details.

And the fun doesn’t end there! The Guardians of Middle Earth are having a big game of tag this Saturday, and the whole Alliance is invited! Burglars – no hiding!

Oh, you want more? We’re organising our very first kinship expedition to the Rift of Nûrz Ghâshu! Captains, burglars and hunters still needed, so head over to the forums and sign yourselves up!

Fond Farewells

Sadly, both Sylvarion and Afoaa have announced that they will be leaving us this week. Best wishes to both of them, and here’s hoping that our paths cross again in future.

Due Gratz…

…to everyone who completes the first tier of fishing skill before the weekend!

Titles are for People Who Have a Topic.April 13, 2008
I don't have a topic.  I have lots of topics.  I do not want lots of titles for lots of topics, but the field must be entered.  And there are days when I run out of actual ideas.  Let us begin with the topics.

News and Announcements

Editorial Announcement.  Kochiro.  You did the update last week.  You taunted Nature.  "Spring Has Sprung".  Yeah, it sprung snow on us this last weekend while I had to not only work, but Aiymi and I also spent a nice romantic night filling out our tax forms.  "Spring Has Sprung".  All of the places that you've lived and you recklessly taunt Nature's Beast, Old Man Winter like that in April?  You know better than that.  Anyway, back to actual LOTRO related stuff...

We've had more Book 13 news come out.  The quest panel gets an update.  At some point it would be nice if they'd expand that 40 quest limit as well.

People are still looking for help in the North Downs and specifically in Dol Dinen.  If you're free, please lend a hand.  We all know how hard that area is at level.

The House of Elentári and LOTRO have reached the ripe old age of one!  LOTRO's first year has to be considered a success, and we've managed to get through the first year of it as well, reaching Rank 10.  At this time, there is no Rank 11.  We've still got a ways to go to get things where we want them, but it was a fairly volatile year for us, and getting things up and running at the beginning is never easy or quick.  Lots of work to still do.  But.  That doesn't mean we shouldn't take a little time out to celebrate the first year!  April 26th, at the kinship house!  Dance!  Drink!  Fight!  Drink Some More!  Drunken Sparring!  Naked Sparring!  Drunken Naked Sparring!  Oh, and The First Annual Keg Race!  With prizes!  It's fun for everybody!

Evernight Alliance News

There's a Rift Run scheduled for 15:00 UK Time on the 19th.  The group is full, but if you're interested, Earun asks you post anyway.  He's going to do more of those, plus it would be good to get your name in as a possible alternate if someone can't show up.

Group Photo scheduled for Wednesday, the 16th, at 19:00 UK Time.  This is for the Evernight Alliance home page, so we'd like to get as many people there as possible.

Two more kinships have joined the Alliance.  The Order of Gilthoniel and A Path Less Travelled have come in.  At this time, there won't be any additional kinships allowed in for a while until things get settled down and we all get comfortable with it all.

United Kingdom, led by Veneria, is unfortunately pulling out of the Alliance.  Sort of.  They are no longer an active kinship and are all but disbanded.  Their remaining active members have joined The Knights Who Say Ni.  So they're still in the Alliance.

Fond Farewell...

To Suroman.  He has made the decision to join another kinship with one of his RL friends.  Good luck to you.

And the times, they are a-changin'...March 16, 2008
And so hear we are again.  Monday.  Update.  Almost Tuesday for most of you, but that's a technicality that I'm going to ignore.

News and Announcements

First, we have had a change of Successor.  Ahlindra, our founder and former leader, has stepped down entirely as an officer due to real life issues.  Gwyndrian has been named Successor in her place.  Congrats Gwyn.  To go along with that promotion, she has also been made an admin on the forum.  I haven't shown her how to do anything there yet (although she's a smart girl and can figure it out on her own), so go easy on her until we get her trained.  ;)

Earun has announced that The Knights Who Say Ni forums, and with it the Evernight Alliance forums, have evaporated in a split with their parent guild, EGN.  They'll be working on a new solution for their forums, and along with that, we'll be working on a new solution for the Alliance forums.  Rest easy, we'll figure something out.

Turbine and Codemasters have announced via Sylvarion that an expansion pack will be coming in the not-so-distant future after Book 14.  "We should go to the Mines of Moria!  My cousin Balin..."  Yes, I'm quoting the movie, and not the book.  I'm a horrible person.

Book 12 Patch has gone through the servers, and seems to have fixed a fair number of issues.  I can attest that monsters still go in anti-exploit mode at inexplicable moments, but they do it FAR less than they did after Book 12.  Auction Hall searches work again.  We still miss while shooting creatures while running.

Book 13 news has been slowly but surely getting leaked.  There's a new area opening up.  Roughly the size of the North Downs.  That's roughly, well, large.

Once again, I'd like to mention the several posts in the Adventurer's Hall section with Tricks and Tips to playing your characters.  We're missing some write ups in some particular classes.  I believe they are all of them except guardian and hunter.  If you don't think that's a hint, I can be more blunt if need be.

It occurs to me that we have never announced here that there is a hit-and-miss selection of legendary pages and books available to kinship members only.  It's posted and semi-regularly updated in the Kinship Section of the forum.

Spring is here! Spring is here!March 9, 2008
Life is skittles and life is beer...
I think the loveliest time of the year...
Is the spring, I do, don't you, of course you do...
But there's one thing that makes spring complete for me...
And makes every Sunday a treat for me...

And of course, that's the annual Feast of the Greenfields!

News and Announcements

With the arrival of Book 12, spring has come to Middle Earth.  Though the shadow continues to creep forth from its strongholds in Mordor and Angmar, the denizens of Eriador are offered a brief respite from its gloom in the form of the spring festival.  Rumours abound of mysterious gifts, of celebrations in the Shire, and of romance in Bree-town!  Rumours even abound of copious amounts of ale being consumed, though I believe I did already mention that the celebrations in question are in the Shire...

Be sure to dip into the Codemasters forums here to find out what festivities your fellow adventurers have discovered!

Events This Week

Once again the fortress of Turbine in the land of Boston has opened its gates and welcomed guests to its halls.  In other words, the chat transcript from the most recent Dev Chat is available here for your perusal.  Do you tremble with anticipation as to where the epic storyline will take us next?  Do you desire to know more about the new mount that will be unveiled soon?  Well, follow that link then!  Go on!  You know you want to!

Speaking of forthcoming proclamations from Turbine, there is going to be an ANNOUNCEMENT at Codemasters Connect -- this very week as is!  Though we do not yet know the details of this mysterious message, guessing is rife here in the Codemasters forums.  The casual hobbit would be advised to stay tuned, since by all accounts it's going to be a big one...

On the subject of news from Codemasters, I have three tidbits for you, none of them very important, but I shall report them now as is my duty.  Firstly you should know that, if you wish to make use of any premium services in the next few weeks, you will be unable to do so.  Due to ongoing maintenance work, Codemasters have suspended character transfers, character renames, and kinship renames for the immediate future.  See here for further details.

Secondly, should you currently pay for your account via WorldPay, be advised that the option to do so will also be unavailable for a while.  See here to find out why, if it should affect you.

Thirdly, if you should feel a sudden desire to become a Troll or a Ranger, then rejoice, for you now may again!  Codemasters have re-enabled session play in the Ettenmoors!  Troll smash!  Troll stomp!  Troll squish puny humans!  Troll see here for info!

On the Forum

Sylvarion has been busy and indeed, productive.  See the fruits of his labours here, in which he helpfully provides the statistics for all the various types of jewellery available to make in the game.  Tabulated and coloured in for your amusement, no less!

See also here, wherein which he is putting together a list of all the crafters available in the kinship, along with their various proficiencies.  If you want that extra special log-holder for your hearth, you now know where to look!

The Alliance continues to strike against the Empi... oh, my apologies.  I seem to have been slightly overcome with a different universe there.  The Evernight Alliance is looking for a bold party of adventurers who are prepared to plunge headlong into the fires of The Rift of Nûrz Ghâshu to defeat the ancient evil chained within those depths.  See here if you dare!

If you think Sylvarion has been busy, you have not seen nothing yet.  Elentir has been busier than a Hobbit at dinnertime and posted not one, not two, but seven threads in the Adventurer's Hall.  These threads are intended to be a repositary of knowledge for the kinship that will help up and coming adventurers to make the most of their characters and skills.  Though currently in their early stages, we hope to grow them over time to offer advice, guidance and help to all of our members in the future.  Feel free to read (and indeed, add to them) at your leisure.  Find the respective thread for your class, Champions, Guardians, Minstrels, Captains, Loremasters, Burglars or Hunters, by clicking on the appropriate name here.

Due Gratz

Through long effort and careful study, Sylvarion has attained the rank of Grand Master Scholar.  Our congratulations go out to him.  Along with orders for black dye for all our new dresses...

New to the Family

Please join me in welcoming Dungarr and Pheanor to The House of Elentari.  We hope you'll both enjoy your time with us.  Pheanor certainly seems to be, since he's already gained about ten levels since he joined...

In Middle Earth

Great sorrow has befallen the Fellowship in recent weeks.  The loss of Mithrandir in Khazad-dum was a terrible blow to all the free peoples of Middle Earth, and though the Ring escaped from those once-proud halls and found rest, for a time, in the fair land of Lorien, it could not remain hidden so for long.

To that end the Fellowship set forth once more upon the Quest of Mount Doom, but alas! tragedy struck and the soldiery of the Saruman waylayed them in the woods near the falls of Rauros.  Boromir, captain of Gondor was slain, and the Fellowship broken and sundered.  Merry and Pipin were taken captive, the orcs believing them to be the hobbits who bore the Ring, and marched with great haste to Isengard and the clutching hands of Saruman.

But all was not lost.  Through many perils Aragorn and his two companions, Gimli and Legolas, travelled to the eaves of Fangorn, where to their amazement and joy they found Mithrandir returned to life!  With Gandalf once again returned to them and upon his assurance that Merry and Pipin were safe with the Ents of Fangorn, they rode to Edoras, there to make good the wrongs of Saruman in Rohan.

Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam, having parted from the Fellowship themselves to carry out the deed that Frodo knows to be his burden alone to bear, met with the creature Gollum, and, taking him as their unlikely guide, made their own way step by step towards the land of Mordor.  As we speak, they stand before the terrible tower of Minas Morgul and watch in horror as the Witch King -- most fell servant of the enemy -- marches forth to make war upon the West.

The fate of Middle Earth hangs in the balance, and only one thing is certain.  War is coming.

That's it for this week folks.  Sorry it was a late one this time.

News and Announcements

Book 12 has given us all kinds of nifty new outfits, but what Elentir wants to know is: should we design a kinship uniform? What do you think? Speak your mind here.

It's also brought us some new neighbours! The Tund Lóriel housing settlement now has new NPCs, including some dancing elves and a Party Planner (ooh!).

Next weekend our little band will finally be making it's first forays into Urugarth! You can sign up to come along, or just watch the aftermath with amusement, here.

Also next weekend: The Evernight Alliance will be leading an expedition to The Rift of Nûrz Ghâshu on 23rd February, at 15:00 Server Time. You can find a link to more information here.

The Aftermath...February 11, 2008
Well, a new week is on us, and the party over the weekend was a lot of fun.  But it's Monday.

News and Announcements

The first Epic Book Run Weekend seems to have been a pretty solid success.  We didn't get all the way through Book 3 on Sunday, but it was late, people have to work, and House VanAiymi was filled with interruptions.  If you missed it, or didn't get to do all you wanted, let us know and we'll get a run for a particular book scheduled on the forums and see if we can round up the right people for the task at hand.

The Evernight Alliance is still in its infancy, and we've got a big job ahead of us.  The current list of kinships involved (and listed in no particular order) are The Knights Who Say Ni, The Grey Company, United Kingdom, The Jesters of Middle Earth, The Guardians of Middle Earth, and The House of Elentári.  At this point we won't be adding any other kinships to the Alliance.  Later on, after we've got things figured out and got ourselves organized, we'll see.  This first part will have some growing pains.  We just have to work through them and remember that ultimately, this allows us all to have a better chance of doing the things in game that we all want to.

Check the forums to see what activities are going on with the Alliance members.

Due Gratz

Sannower hit level 50 during Book 8 Chapter 1 on Saturday.  Grats!

Lots of Goings On...February 5, 2008
It's February.  Winter is hopefully going to be ending some day...

News and Announcements

We had a Kinship Meeting on Sunday.  Make sure to log in to check the minutes if you weren't there.  One note on the minutes though...there were some errors made somewhere (we're still trying to track them all down)...so there are things said that are attributed to one person, but in reality someone else entirely said it.  Not sure how it happened, but it obviously did.  Corrections should be coming soon.

We are working with some other kinships on something called the Evernight Alliance.  Please remember that this is a work in progress, not everything has been decided, certain things may not have even been thought of for discussion yet, and that at this time this is not an Official Alliance with Governing Bodies and Rules For Joining.  Right now, the intention is for it to be a gathering of kinships to help each other out with finding groups for fun, quests, and raids, whether scheduled or spontaneous in game (probably not spontaneous raids right now--let's take smaller steps at first).  For at least the time being, the main posting area for it is here.  This forum is currently housed on the forums for The Nights Who Say Ni, who happen to own the kinship house at the water's edge in the same neighborhood as our own.  If you don't wish to register/post on that forum, then you can post in our own thread regarding it, and we will answer any questions and/or pass along any info we can.

As part of that effort, Earun (Leader, Knights Who Say Ni) has created a custom chat channel in game, and posted the directions to join it here.  It is not a requirement that you join this channel, but it is another place you can go to ask for help or find a group for a quest.  Right now, it's like a Pick-Up-Group, but as time passes and we play with each other more often, it should become like playing with other friends.

In a parallel effort, we are also working with The Jesters of Middle Earth and their allies, The Guardians of Middle Earth (aka The Gnomes).  Watch for posts from Rowanath (Officer, Jesters of Middle Earth) and/or Chugglebut (Leader, Jesters of Middle Earth) for events they are hosting.  Make sure if you plan to attend their events that you let them know on their forums.  This is particularly true for the Wednesday Night Instance Runs (level 45+, Urugarth, Carn Dum, Annuminas, etc).  They do have some rules that they want followed during those runs, so please make sure you read up on those and follow them to the best of your abilities.  If you have any questions on them, don't hesitate to ask.

Speaking of events hosted by the Jesters and Guardians, they are doing a Helegrod run this Sunday.  At last count, there were only 4 spots left.  Sign up now if you want to go.  Also note in Anyarien's (Leader, Guardians of Middle Earth) latest post that the time has been moved.

Another event scheduled for this weekend is The Epic Run.  Epic Books 1-8, though *not necessarily in that order* (order to be finalized Friday night), starting at 14:00 GMT on Saturday, very likely to pick it up again at the same time on Sunday.  If the higher level books (4-8) are going to have any shot at completion, we will need a minstrel or two who can help even if it's something they've already done.  Vany is not above bribing minstrels if need be.

There is a Screenshot Contest going on.  Submit your in-game screenshots and perhaps one of them will get used as a loading screen within LOTRO.  Undeniably cool.  Note: Lotro-Europe loves to redirect to the home page of their website, so if you don't get to the page that says "Loading Screen Competition Announced!", just come back here and click the link again.  It should work the second time without an issue.

Another Week, Another UpdateJanuary 28, 2008
Welcome back.  We're here talking with...wait...that was the radio show I heard this morning.  And I can't get it out of my head.  Anyway...

News and Announcements

Kinship Meeting!  19:00 GMT at the Mansion House, February 3rd.

European Dev Chat this Thursday at 20:00 GMT.

The Patch Notes for Book 12 were released, and posted by Gwyndrian here.  Good stuff, unless you happen to play a guardian...then I'd be a little concerned.  Still reserving final judgement for a while, but it's looking a bit Nerfy.

An early bit of crafting news for Book 13 has also been released and posted by Sylvarion here.

The Naked Conga hosted by The Jesters of Middle Earth was a big success.  From the front of the line (or even third in line) you couldn't see the end of it.  The captains and loremasters made sure that even the pets got involved as well.  I want to particularly congratulate those who managed to get themselves killed during the Conga.  Like the leader and organizer, Ravenswing (JoME), who led us all off a cliff and into the River Lune outside of Duillond...

Elentir is leading Monster Mondays, and it kicked off today.  Go create mayhem!

Due Grats

Nornia is now level 50!

Fireround, alt of Suroman, at some point made GM Tailor!  We just now found about it, though it may have happened weeks ago.

Welcome to the Family

Welcome Alathair.  He has the fortune of being friends with Elentir (Galarian).  He has the misfortune of Galarian dragging him in to meet us.  ;)  Also, just like Elentir (Galarian), he uses a name on the forum that doesn't correspond to any of his character names.

That's looking like all for this week.  As always, if you have something that deserves a mention here, let us know.  Grandmaster is hard.  It deserves a mention.  Hitting 50.  Gaining Kindred status with a faction is also worthy.  But we won't know unless you tell us.

Things are picking up...January 21, 2008
As we move further away from the holidays and people return to their normal schedules things are picking up more.

News and Announcements

There are several quests/raids being planned but no specific dates yet.  Need to get enough people before we can think about a when.

The Rift run was cancelled/postponed due to a general collective lack of raiding experience on our part.  Let's get Urugarth and Carn Dum under our belt before we think about The Rift.  And Helegrod.

There is a poll for when our next kinship meeting will be held.  Make sure you vote!

This would be a short update, but I have something to say at the end.  It could double as a post, and probably will...

Due Grats

Robban, alt of Thordil, has made GM Jeweller.  Grats Thor!

Suroman has made 50!  Big Grats!  I see that there's 3 more sitting at 49, and another couple at 48, so expect to see more of these.

Announcement

We've had a request for a raid on The Rift.  It's been scheduled for Feb 2 and Feb 3.  I'm not sure that we'll be able to get enough people for it, quite honestly.  The second problem is that only a couple of us have even been successful in Carn Dum or Urugarth, and those are *difficult*.  The Rift makes *difficult* seem rather simple by comparison.  It was designed to be the hardest content in the game thus far.  If we do get enough people to go (and 11 won't cut it), I expect us to get slaughtered wholesale.  As a group, we aren't experienced with that type of content yet.  I'm more than willing to take the time and effort to try, but I'm not very hopeful for any actual progress to occur.  But it's been asked for, so I'll try and get it going.  For those interested in ramping our way up to the deep end of the shark infested waters rather than jumping straight in, Carf and Gwyn plan on leading multiple runs for Urugarth, Carn Dum, and Barad-Gularan to get practice in.  They're still on hiatus with real-life concerns for now.

If you have any questions, concerns, comments, ideas, or just need to vent about your puppy relieving himself in your clean laundry, don't hesitate to contact me.

Happy 2008!!January 6, 2008
I hope everyone had a Happy New Year and a great holiday season!  This time of year is always a little slower in game.  Hopefully there will be more quests and a little more chatter in /k soon as people return to their normal schedules.

News & Announcements

As of this weekend a Tier 2 House is available in Tund Lorien where our kinship hall is.  Grab it quick before it's gone!

We are still trying to organize a trip to Urugarth.  Feel free to sign up, ask questions, etc.  If there is enough interest, we'll make several trips.

Haven't had enough Fornost yet?  Keep your eyes on the forums, there will be more information soon.

Due Grats

Suroman had his birthday about a week ago

Hidigrim & Silent Echo are having birthdays this week

Merry ChristmasDecember 25, 2007
Christmas is here.  I didn't have time to do this on Christmas Eve, but 5:30 on Christmas Morning isn't a bad time to do it either.  This is going to be a short update though.  Not a lot happened in the last week, and we covered the future events pretty well in the last update.

Due Gratz

Afoaa gave himself an early present and got Aforil to 50.

Really, that's all I've got.  Have a good Christmas with friends and family.

You shall be the Fellowship... of the Ring!December 17, 2007
News and Announcements

Though precious little information has yet been prised from the grasp of Turbine about the forthcoming Book 12 update, there has been some leakage concerning developments in the realm of Angmar.  Sylvarion reveals all here!

Alas, we know nothing more for certain yet...

Events This Week

...but hark!  All is not lost!  This Thursday Online-Welten are hosting another Dev Chat with Turbine!  Perhaps some mysteries will be revealed?  Click here to read the Codemasters announcement on this fortituous event, and here to learn how to attend.

Unfortunately, the scheduled attack on the fallen city of Fornost did not occur last Saturday as originally planned.  Though they tried in vain to avoid them, the fell creatures of Real Life kept our brave heroes at bay.  But lo! (I'll stop in a minute honest) perhaps some hope still remains!  If you keep half an eye on the Adventurer's Hall, here, who knows what strange events may be forthcoming in the near future?

On the Forum

Speaking of strange events and great deeds, Gwyndrian is attempting to organise an assault on the orcish city of Urugarth, deep in the heart of Angmar.  Though none yet know when her attack will fall, she is taking council here.  She also promises shiny things to the first minstrel to sign up!

In other news, Samramdir needs your help.  Well, he needs your wood anyway.  Whether that's helpful or not I can't be entirely sure, but he seems to think so.  See if you can help him out here.

A gentle reminder to all that Aiymi is still looking for more replies to her marketplace poll here.  Don't be shy!  Cast your vote today!

Again, it's old to many, but if you haven't yet told us where you live, now is the chance to do so!  Click here to find the official House of Elentari housing list.  Add your name and address!  Then pick a random person, and invite yourself round for tea!  I'm sure they won't mind.  I hear Afoaa has a lovely garden goblin...

Due Gratz

There don't seem to be any Due Gratz this week.  Work harder, lackeys.  Um, I mean, friends...

In Middle Earth

Though the newly formed Fellowship of the Ring remains, for the moment, in the fair vale of Rivendell, Elrond knows that the time is drawing nigh when they must set out upon the Quest of Mount Doom.  Winter has begun to chill around them, and they must depart soon if they do not wish to find the passes of the mountains held against them by the elements.

The Ring has been at rest too long.  Soon the hour will be upon us when it must set out once more, towards the doom that has been appointed...

That's it for this week, folks...

The Festival Ends Again. That and Other Headlines in the Next Hour.November 26, 2007
The Festival has ended (again).  In the US, the one day break in the Christmas Shopping Season known as Thanksgiving has ended.  Some conspiracy theorists may find a link there.

News and Announcements

Aiymi has announced the Random Games of Middle Earth.  Hope everyone has fun with those.  She's kicking it off with a Farming Contest.  Remember, most of these won't be announced here, but will be on short notice and announced in game.

Today was/is the last day to enter Thea's Housing Contest.  Judging will be this week.  At least it's easier to find everyone's house here than it was in Asheron's Call.  Just keep reminding yourself of that Thea.

Awkward Quest Days
surfaces again on Dec 2 with a revisit of Fornost.

Elentir has posted links to maps of Goblintown, for those who have found that they have no clue where it is they are going in there.

Due Grats

Tjohoo!  Bowmore, one of Tibbe's alts, has hit 50!  Congrats!

I think that does it for this week.  If you have anything that you think needs to be posted here on the front page, PM anyone in the leadership team.  Sometimes things happen in game that deserve a congrats or a mention, but none of us know about it.

Changes...October 28, 2007
Each weekly update is considered a group effort by the leadership team.  We help point out things to each other, and we rotate who has the honor of the actual update for the week.  We therefore sign each one as The Leadership Team to signify the group effort that this takes.

It just so happens that the rotation schedule slotted this update to be in my hands.  If it hadn't, it was going to be in my hands anyway before we resumed the rotation as usual.  Therefore, for this one week, I'll be signing the update a little more personally than we usually do.

News, Announcements, and What's on The Forums

Book 11 is in full gear.  New areas to explore.  Houses.  The Fall Festival.  Continued class rebalancing.  I hope everyone has been enjoying the early days of this patch.  It's been a good one.

As part of the update, The House of Elentári has a kinship house.  Thanks to all who donated money to help make it happen.  Remember, everyone in the kinship has the right to decorate.  As long as everyone plays nice we can keep this arrangement going.  No need to have decorating wars going on.  If you change an item out, let an officer know, and we can put it in the chest for storage or find another spot for it.  People have paid money for those items, so let's be considerate about it.

Those of you who have purchased a home, please let us know on this thread.  The information will eventually be used and posted in an address book as part of the main website.  Participation is strictly voluntary, but it can't be used for evil anyway.  What do you have to lose?

Tuesday.  Tomorrow.  Carfaon and Gwyndrian are going to be roaming the lands of the dead, helping any in need.  If it's a boneyard, they'll help you out.  Ivar is high on the list, but certainly not exclusively, and he'll probably need to be smote more than once just out of principle.  Look here for details.

The Jesters of Middle Earth are hosting a game of Hide and Seek on Saturday.  17:00.  Be there, just don't tell anyone where you are.  Kind of makes it harder to hide that way.  Remember, stealth skills are not permitted.

The first installment of Awkward Quest Days will be on Sunday, November 4, at 17:30 ST.  Make sure to vote in the poll to decide what area we'll concentrate on.  Don't worry if you can't make it this time.  We'll catch you the next time around.  Or, if need be, ask me and we'll get something figured out for you.

The THoE Monster Play Tribe has stalled.  If this is going to happen, we need volu
